A brief history of Bridgeport Coffee Company
Bridgeport Coffee Company was founded in 2004 by a partnership helmed by Mike Pilkington, whose 25 years of foodservice experience made him realize the importance of outstanding artisanal coffees with strong behind-the-scenes support.
We began with our retail location at 3101 South Morgan in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago, and rapidly expanded to launch our own wholesale roastery a mile away. Now we serve some of the finest coffeebars, restaurants, and hospitality establishments in Chicagoland and beyond.

A longer history of Bridgeport Coffee
In the winter of 2004, Mike Pilkington was walking down 31st St in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago when he noticed a FOR LEASE sign in the window of this beautiful, old, corner storefront. I thought, "what a great spot for a coffee shop." Over the next few months he and his partners converted this amazing space into the BRIDGEPORT COFFEE HOUSE.
Our neighborhood is a little off the beaten path, yet we are often asked what will we do when the coffee house chains arrive.
 Our response is part of our mission statement. We will strive to be more than merchants, rather part of the community and the history of our surroundings.
We strive to know everyone's name, so come by and introduce yourself. We look forward to knowing you.
